Pics of my non-Rick guitars

There are some die-hard Rick guys here, but I need more then hi-gains and toasters to get by:

Image
Epiphone Dot. Originally a gift from my girlfriend, I replaced the stock p-ups w/ a SD Seth Lover (Bridge) and a SD Phat Cat P-90. I also added a Bigsby B7 tremolo. This guitar kills!

Gretsch G6120DSW Nashville Western - A recent addition. Love those Dynasonic pickups!

My other bass, a Musicman Sterling in the elusive Blue Dawn finish. This is my slappin' bass. Ths Sterling is one of the best production basses on the market - not only does it do the Stingray sound, it can also sound like a Fender Jazz! Of course, it plays 2nd fiddle to my 4003.

PRS Custom 22 Soapbar. My 2nd PRS, this one replaced my original McCarty. I love the soapbars and the maple fretboard w/ birds isn't something you see everyday on a PRS! I also love PRS' trem system and tuner system. Amazing instruments. Death before Gibson! =)

My 2nd Strat, this SRV siggy replaced an '89 Strat Plus. I love the huge frets and the Texas Special pickups! I do not love changing strings with Fender's vintage-style tuners, so I swapped them for StewMac locking ones. MUCH easier and tuning is more stable now.

VERY nice collection you have there John!

There is a SRV siggy sitting in a store not too far from me...they're asking $1300 for it. I've played it numerous times and I keep thinking I'll go back and get it....Image

Crikey, John. Robbed any banks recently?

Don't think I'll post any pictures of my ****** Strat or Brian Moore here!

My other guitar is a Vantage Avenger AV-75, I have no idea what year it was made in.
The neck actually plays quite well for what it is.
These were taken once I got my Ric back in March '04. I got bored one day and took a marker to the finish because I simply don't really care about it. I found it kinda cool but I took it out before lending it to my cousin for a while because he wanted to learn guitar on an electric. His dad (my uncle) owns a nice 12 string acoustic. I can't remember the name of it since I don't go there too often.

And a nice little side-by-side one here...

Right now the Vantage is all in parts, I figured I'd practice doing some modification on it, since I have no experience why not start with something that has no value other then personal value.
I sanded down the top, and not the edges, so it has a maple-looking top with the green on the edges, I used alot of oak stain to make it more golden, it actually looks pretty nice.
I wanted to put Strat pickups in it but I decided against it not too long ago, not only because I don't have a dime to dish out on some pickups, but because I kinda want it to keep the sound it has, it's very unique. I do want to change the pots, the wiring and the switch because they're all scratchy, plus the little black cover for the switch is broken.

I don't have any pictures of it at the moment on my computer, but one day I will and I'll show you guys what I did to it!

P.S. What's the deal with the wire with a wire inside of it? Is it a ground? Did I ruin the pickups by cutting the wire?
