Sorry for getting back late on this Peter. I do my posting from work and I no sooner got back last Thursday (23rd) and we got slammed.
Beatlefest was great as it usually is. Attendance seemed like it was down though from last year. It's amazing how the fans keep getting younger & younger year after year. Klaus Voorman was great sharing his stories from the Hamburg Days and also working with John, George & Ringo in the solo years. He also had an exhibit of his artwork and prints on display and for sale. Fantastic work!!! Sid Bernstein shared stories of helping bring The Beatles to America and the Shea Stadium concerts. Sid also signed copies of his book "Not Just The Beatles...". Neil Innes entertained folks with stories about The Rutles and performed Rutles songs with the house band Liverpool. Photographer Paul Saltzman was signing copies of his book "The Beatles In Rishikesh" and had an exhibit of his photos for sale. Anyone who's interested in this rarely seen period of The Beatles needs to check out this book. The majority of these photos have never been seen before. Also photographer Marc Weinstein had an exhibit of his photos of The Beatles at Shea Stadium from August 18, 1965 on display and for sale. A lot of these photos have never been shown publicly until now. Also Bruce Spizer author of "The Beatles Story On Capitol" was on hand pushing his books. His next project is "The Beatles On Apple" covering of course the Apple years to the break-up and solo years. If you're a vinyl junkie like myself, you gotta have these fanatastic volumes in your collection. And lastly Mike Gibbins former drummer for Badfinger was on hand signing his two latest solo releases plus also any Badfinger items brought in by the fans.
All in all a truly good time was had by all!
