Going to Liverpool!

Post by einar »

On Friday, I'm off for Liverpool! I had promised myself to visit there before reaching 50 (years), and now it's happening! No need to say I'm looking forward to it! This will be as a part of "the International Beatle Week", b.t.w.
Now, being back on the Searchers' trail (thanks to you), this visit is given an extra dimention. Does anybody know of any shops specializing in Merseybeat culture (I would be very interested in videos with Searchers performing). Further, I've learned from this forum that the Iron Door does not excist anymore. But does anybody know where to find the Old Roan Pub, where Chris Curtis is said to be performing from time to time (mentioned in his interview in Record Collector of March 1998).

Any ideas? But they have to be served rather fast, as take off is on Friday!

Thanks,
Einar
Searchers amongst my teenage favourite music. Still fond of them, but earnestly a little puzzled they are considered THIS big! But I'm very excited about this forum, and will love to read it regularly, and also contribute!

Me again!!
As Peter made us aware of, John and Chris will be 60 within a few days. Maybe not very possible then, that Chris will spend his 60th birthday performing at the Old Roan?! This will be on Sunday 26th. But anyway, I'll strongly rate this pub as a target during my visit.

Einar: You are a lucky man. Please do visit the "Iron Door" parking lot and see if you can get a few nice photos as a reminder of what once was. Nothing like "progress" I guess. I wish I was going to Liddypool as well. I hope you will give us a review of your trip on this forum. Have a great time.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
