Ric-Art Wallpaper ... getcha redhots!

Post by aristeas »

Someone asked for Ric wallpapers recently. These were put together by me for a screensaver from a variety of sources, most of which I don't remember. The Lennon 325 pix are courtesy of Tuck Hersey, and the last Susanna Hoffs one is someone elses work - wish I could recall who. Anyway, Enjoy.

All of the pix are 800 x 600. For those of you with different screen settings you can resize the pix with a nifty graphics program called Irfanview. Download for free here:

Lee, these are spectacular! I can't figure out which is my favorite. Truly a labor of love.

Decided to use the one of Lennnon holding on to his first 325. Great pic and a good shot of how much wear and tear went into that 325.

Some really nice pictures in there!
Two of the Tom Petty's are really nice, the first Jetglo one is great. The Mapleglo 381V69 is stunning!

Anyways I posted this in another thread in the General forum, some people might of missed it.
You'll have to copy/paste the link in your address bar to see the picture I think. Eitherway, enjoy Image

Thanks guys. And yes, I am just a tiny bit obsessed with my Rics 330/6 and 660/12TP. Had a great day today jamming with my 330 (and some friends). Man, can that thing bite, sparkle and ring!

While I'm in expansive mood, the "JohnL2.jpg" photo montage took the longest and was great fun to do, combining three different images. On the left is a press conference pic with John and Ringo. I edited out John's hand (holding a cigarette) and had to give Ringo a slight 'nose job' to fit him into the space available.

In the middle a large pic of the 325 was carefully inserted behind John playing on a British 60s teen/kids show called "Ready, Steady, Go." I'm originally from Bristol, UK and I remember watching that show when I was about 6 or 7 years old, sitting crosslegged in front of the TV with my brother.

It was a big deal among kids then whether you were a 'Paul fan' or a 'John fan'. Paul being seen as Mr Nice Guy and John as the Class Rebel. I was a John fan, and I vividly remember wearing a ridiculous black plastic Beatle wig (like a plastic bathing cap) while on holiday in Devon. In this and my orange nylon shirt I thought I was the coolest thing on the planet.

Love Me Do was the song that first woke me up to music, and John's voice and that harmonica still hits the same spot and makes me smile. My cousin Angela had a 'Dansette' portable record player, like a small beauty case in blue and pink Tolex. This of course meant that she was incredibly sophisticated.

The first 45rpm record I ever bought, having saved my pocket money for three weeks, was Penny Lane b/w Strawberry Fields. My first album was Sgt Peppers. What I wouldn't give to be that boy again..

Hey Lee,

I feel honoured that you've included a photograph of my 340-12 in your list. You must have seen it advertised on eBay recently.....I took the photo last weekend and tried for the 'arty' portrait look. I guess it must have worked 'cause the guitar was sold earlier today (to make way for another Ricky 12!

Cheers! Darren

Cool Pics! JohnL1 shows that John probably never entertained the thought of polishing his guitar ;)
