Rickenbacker potentiometers

Post by stringtheory »

Could anyone tell me what brand potentiometers Rickenbacker used in its steel guitars in the mid 1950's? Some sources say Stackpole, others say CTS. Thank you in advance for any light you can shed on the subject.

There's a pair of Allen Bradley pots in a pre-war '37 Bakelite I own. Unfortunately, they are very tight; impossible to do any swells and I don't want to risk putting too much torque on the bakelite saucer knobs, as they might crack.

These AB potentiometers are abnormally large compared to a standard Stackpole or CTS pot;1.75" diam, and there's no opening where you could shoot some contact cleaner in to give them more play.
What type of replacements Pots and Value would you suggest?
