Besides the lovely "artwork" on the case, something doesn't seem right about this bass. Should it have chrome hardware or should it be black?

The tuners have been replace with newer Schallers which say "Rickenbacker" on the back. Better tuners in my opinion as I've put them on all of my customized 3000's.

The hardware should be chrome - it's not a BT (I don't think BT was an option in '73). The TRC by the way is black Plexi - extra cool IMHO. The "artwork" on the case will soon be gone.

As you will notice, at $1,255, I just bought it! and I think it was a good deal.

More details when I actually get it.

Congrats! I was eyeing that up and was unsure of the hardware. I'm glad it went to a Forumite.

Thanks guys! Now how about this. Shipping to Israel should be about $225, and then there's customs and 17% VAT to pay. So the seller has just emailed me to say that his wife is going to Israel on a business trip next week and can bring the bass with her, saving me most of the extra cost. Now is that cool or what?

I think it's correct except for the tuners, it has factory black trim, you can see it on the side of the body, I had one like that. The old ones didn't have black chrome pieces with them, I liked those much better than the all black ones. I also saw a 73 jetglo with black trim once. (I'm pretty sure it was a 73 anyway). That is a really nice looking bass Ilan.
Sharp eyes Dane, I never would have noticed the newer tuners

Hey! Great score, Ilan. Some guys have all the luck...Image

Bob said I think it's correct except for the tuners.
I swear I'm not trying to be a wet-blanket: please take a closer look at the neck pickup on that beauty and tell us what you see.
Congrats again. I wish I could have made her mine...

Ilan-

That's funny! Sounds like it was meant to be. Nice bass. She looks to be in super nice shape.

Congrats!

Man you have sharp eyes Sérgio, it's got a new 4003 pickup in the neck position.

My 1977 4001 FL BG has black plastic but chrome metal parts:

I agree that the one Ilan bought is nice. Nobody noticed the mis-installed bridge pickup cover?

Huh! you're correct. I should have looked closer. Maybe I'll ask the seller about it. Still, even if I had seen the newer pickup, I'd still BIN it for that price.

I would buy it at that price too; based on the pics it looks to not have yellowed too much.

I've never seen a white Rick with the 1/2 inch spacing so this is a good contrast to the '75 WHT I own.

I like it very much. Congrats!
