The seller apologizes for the quality of the pics. He says that the color of the bass is not properly reproduced. He also says that the strap is included but the amp is not. :-)

According to Mike Parks' "Finish Time Line", Ruby was discontinued in 1984 (but some later 1980s examples are known), so 1993 is a bit late for Ruby. Most likely it's Red.

Only 4 strings on that one...I'd bet that the action would be higher in the neck picture if it had all 8 strings (mine is.)

Here is a Babel Fish (http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr) translation of the ad - get ready to laugh! Image

They offer on a "RARE PIECE from the USA" uniquely in Germany, imported and after a fair, in Germany remained! ORIGINAL - RICKENBACKER E - bass "model 4003/S8" Farbe"rot" Substantial Ahornkorpus with continuous maple neck, long scale neck, Palisandergriffbrett, 20 federations, 2 single coil pick-ups, 2 volume, 2 ton-regler, three step switch. SERIES No. I66048 manufacture date September 1993 * NEW INSTRUMENT * 8 - Saiter (4 normal strings + 4 Oktavsaiten) * inclusive. 2 set of original Rickenbacker 8 stringer strings * in fig. testweise as Viersaiter covers (typical Ricky sound) * inclusive. Suit-case (likewise new part)! * Pickguard in high-grade steel execution equips, which is appropriate for original as accessories with s. Abb. * inclusive belt (see photos) * inclusive. Rickenbacker - handbook Unfortunately my camera is on the chest and therefore sees one only with the picture before the amplifier the original color of the Rickenbacker (it is red) somewhat weak. The amplifier and the box in the background of this picture are not part of the auction. ONLY THE BASS IS SPECIFIED SOLD AS IN THE ATRIKELBESCHREIBUNG, NOT THE AMPLIFIER AND THE BOX! As is the case for ebay usually I do not know a warranty with this private sales or cancelling insures to ensure, however that the Rickenbacker bass functions and my data is correct. Dispatch within Germany 15. - Euro (without insurance)

The fish is a bit lacking sometimes and often humorous.

Farbe rot = color red
Ahornkorpus = maple body
Atrikelbescreibung = Item description

Koffer is literally suitcase but can also be just plain case.
