I had that bass for a couple of days and it is in great conditon. I just couldn't get into the 8-string sound and sent it back. Chris was a gentleman throughout and asked if he had misrepresented the bass on the phone. If anything, he was conservative in his initial description and had no issues with me returning it.
If you think all is going well, you've obviously overlooked something.
"and BTW I see someone also bought the $2K 4003s5 from Mike Parks.....was that anybody here?"
Brian
Actually, that was mine. I had won it inadvertantly on Ebay, just bidding because the price seemed too low. Since I'm not good with the fivers, I consigned it to Mike to pay off my Cheyenne on order.
I'll second that opinion on Chris Clayton Ted. I got to meet and hang out with Chris at the POR stand at the Dallas Guitar show. Really nice guy and a pleasure to deal with.
I'll third that opinion on Chris Clayton. I never got to meet him in person, but whenever I've spoken to him, he couldn't be any nicer or helpful. He has helped me quite a bit with some problems I've had with an order that had nothing directly to do with him.
Marc....congrats on the sale of the s5....and good price
I may not have Ted's floors/doors as a backdrop but I have some pretty cool faux-painted-block walls in my "war room"/office (I still have to refinish the baseboards though)....
....and a shameless pic of my s8 bought for an apparent bargain of $1385 last month
