My first Ric

Post by jazzsmith »

Hello - this is my first posting on the Forum. I have been collecting vintage guitars for about four years, mostly Gretsch's and I have recently acquired my first Rickenbacker - a 1967 Model 370/6 (white binding front and back, 3 PU, slash soundhole) in Mapleglo. Its amazing! The neck is a little wider than the new Rics I've tried, more like a Fender. The bridge pickup is quinticentually Beatle-esque and the middle and neck pickups are full and melodious. I understand this model is quite rare. Does anyone have any additional info?

Hello, Jeffrey. Your Ric sounds like a real keeper. Sorry I can't offer you any additional info. Just wanted to say Welcome.
Nothing compares to the sound of a Rick 12 with a JangleBox and a touch of chorus.

Hi..and thanks. What I've gathered from the R. Smith book, is that there were 2 made in '59 and 1 made in '68, mapleglo's that is. Of course there are no reciepts from '67. I would love to know if there are other '67 370's or 375's Old Style WBBS in any finish.
