The Beatles' First Tour - May 1960

Every so often a book surfaces that offers something informative and different about The Beatles. Gentle and Forsyth will surely be added to this unique list of Beatles' historians. This is one of the most delightful 100 pages of the Fab Fours' early days that I have had the pleasure to read.

This gem chronicles the days of the Johnny Gentle Tour in May 1960 that followed shortly after the Silver Beetles took the stage to audition for the Iron Door Club. The authors set the stage by reminding the reader of The Beatles' early days of Liverpool and their short but influential tour of Scotland with Johnny Gentle, the heartthrob of the day.

Chocked full of interesting photos of the tour and comments of The Silver Beetles, the work is a must have for all fans who want to know about the earliest days of the group. A special thanks goes out to Johnny Gentle and Ian Forsyth for allowing the cover page to be posted on the Iron Door Club site. Incidently you may order your own copy, while they last by contacting Gentle and Forsyth.
