"Remo Four Live 1961"
Recorded At The Iron Door

The Remo Four

The Remo Four were a favourite group at the Iron Door and they came with excellent credentials having been voted the top instrumental group on Merseyside for 1960, 1961 and 1962.

The group was comprised of: Don Andrew - Bass Guitar; Colin Manley - Lead Guitar; Keith Stokes - Rhythm guitar; and Harry Prytherch - Drums.

The group was recorded in 1961 at the Iron Door and their cover of the Chet Atkins' classic Trambone is offered at the link below. That's Colin Manley you are listening to on lead guitar. He was a favourite guitarist of George Harrison and Paul McCartney. I am sure you will agree that Colin has a magic touch and it is obvious why he was held in high esteem by The Beatles.

As a reminder, that is Alan Hickson on vocals and Tommy Hughes tickling the ivories on the keyboard. Alan Stratton is on bass, Bruce McCaskill on rhythm, Peter Cooke on lead and Colin Middleborough on drums.
