The 350 makes a better 6 string....the 660 makes a better 12 string. My opinion.

All interesting comments and important points to consider when trying to decide between a 350 and a 660.

"Telecasters are very cool also, and they rock better than Ric's!"

Sorry Steve, we all feel diferently, but Teles do NOT rock better than Rics. Teles are great gtrs, with plenty of tone & charachter, but if you can't get a Ric to 'rock' better, then you're not playing them right. My album 'Stupidly Cool', by my band 'The Rampant Carnivores' is rock & everything was Ric. I put some Tele on it at the beginning, but recorded over it as it was just too soft compared to the Rics.
It is fair to say though, that I do not play Rics as a lot of users do...I am extremely aggressive. Through a 100w Marshall head & 2 Marshall 4x12's, believe me....Rics rock!

I guess for me, they do, but I appreciate your enthusiasm and position on this matter. Besides, I'm only a rocking drummer, I am not a rocking guitar player. I almost cry every time I see a black 360, because I don't have one - you rock, man.

Thanks Steve. Rickenbackers have a certain 'reputation' about what you can & can't do on them & I must admit, this bothers me. In my band, even my other guitarists SG couldn't compete with my Rics. If you drive Rics through a set up like mine, the midrange punch is really powerful & it seems to overwhelm other guitars....except of course, another Ric.
It is like saying that you can't play country on a Ric. I turned on the television the other day & there was Dwight Yoakams guitarist with a 360JG. Rics are extremely adaptable if you're prepared to just 'break the mould'.

I have a 330, and I would describe the tone as, generally, fuller than the Tele, but the Tele could be described as chimey, not in the same way as the 330, but still, equally chimey. One of the distinctions for me is, I have a riff intro to one of my songs, where I slide one fretted note up and down the fretboard. The smooth neck of the Tele does seem to lend itself more to that sort of thing, at least it does for this drummer and closet guitar player.

Oh, the 350v63, only the best guitar I own. It's such a cool little axe. Just strung mine up with Pyramid flats and can't put it down. I know this is no astute or meaningful insight like you other smarties around here make, but really, such an underrated guitar. 4 stars.350 (This pic taken right after I got it, w/ original strings)
