Speaking of TV shows, Larry, I couldn't help but notice your name, you wouldn't be friends with the Beaver, now would you?

OK...so why did RIC go to 24 fret necks in the first place?

Cole

I would imagine Cole, that it was to keep up with the musical trend of the '70's to push the bounderies of playing to include soloing at an unreasonably high pitch!

Larry and the Beaver parted ways long ago. Even Ken Osmond (Eddie Haskell) is an LA cop!

To hear a HiGain-equipped Ric with 24 frets (340 Desert Gold) used for a solo in the upper register, go here:
http://www.myspace.com/noelchristianriddell

Listen to 'Desert Ship'. Intro licks are low on the neck, the solo at around 2:20 is WAY up there.
Rics sound nice with Ebow too...

You can compare it to the solo sounds of a 1997SPC (with Toasters) on 'Glow' and a 650A (with HB1s) on 'Double Argent'.
