Re: Byrds Effect ?
Sorry to take so long for a response. I'll try to answer your question, (if I can) when the audio function on my computer gets fixed. Hang on. In the meantime, maybe one of our Byrdmaniax or recording gurus out there can help. Christian? Beatbyrd? JimK Not a guru by any means, but thanks anyway Jim...

Re: Gin Blossoms "Until I Fall Away" cover posted
Thanks to all for the comments. I like the way that the song came out, but I'm having second thoughts about the double-tracked lead vocal. It sounds odd to me in a lot of spots. I might go back and try a mix with just a single tracked LV and maybe attempt a better imitation of the GB's lead singer. ...

Re: Introducing... Chinook!
I just saw this thread. Congrats on the new pup/assistant shepherd. You already know that my family are Border Collie fans. I love the bumper sticker that says, "My Border Collie is smarter than your honor student". Very cool name, BTW.

Re: Can This Be Done?
Jim, you might be best served (budgetwise) by using a PC based system, maybe with Audacity (freeware) and a decent USB interface like a Scarlett with 4, 6, or 8 inputs. You could also upload tracks from your Tascam (via USB) and add them to the Audacity tracks. Audacity is a friendly, robust package...

Re: Can This Be Done?
Something looks strangely familiar, there. 8) Sorry Jeff, it's not for sale!!!! After a bunch of the buy-sell-buy cycles, that part of the recording chain is complete, thanks in great measure to you. Now, if you have a 24 bit or higher, 192 khz, 48 track recorder for sale cheap, let's talk offline....

Re: Can This Be Done?
I've taken a look at the larger TASCAM units and having 24 channels available is enough to make me drool. However the screen display is much too small. Except for limiting the DP-02 two mic/line inputs, TASCAM almost got it right. (Should have been 4 mic/line inputs.) JimK Tom: how about sharing so...

Re: Can This Be Done?
I've been wondering if an audio interface can be patched into the TASCAM via the USB port, or would it be better to find a 4 channel mixer and patch it into the TASCAM instead. JimK Hi Jim, I don't think that there's a choice involved. I record with a Tascam recorder and the USB port on mine is str...

Re: Janglebox
Hi: I am starting a second new topic today! I hope that Steve reads this and edifies us!!!! I bought another Janglebox, the Byrds LE, and it is fabulous. But, whenever I plug it into a PA system-- rather than an amp-- lately there is hardly any sound coming out. I have a nice Mackie powered mixer a...
