Very interesting 1968 prototype Rick on eBay....

There's currently a very interesting prototype Rick with 'invisible' pickups (a la Fender's Marauder-model) on eBay :

Thanks for posting that pic, Tony - that could very well be the same guitar. Do you have some info about this particular example, e.g. what is the official model-designation of this 12-string, 3-pickup Rick?

In the late 50's Model "380" was indeed a flattop acoustic with a round sound hole - here you can see a photo of Rick Nelson with his "380", as seen on Rickenbacker's website :

that this particular guitar has been (heavily) modified goes without saying...however I don't think that it's a Rickenbacker-copy - judging from the available pics which show e.g. the shape of the neck-heel, I have every reason to believe that this guitar is a genuine Rickenbacker from ...
