Forrest White and Rickenbacker

Does anybody know why John Hall fired Forrest White after his father (F.C. Hall) gave him (John) control of the company? Maybe JH can answer this himself. I mean no disrespect to any of the involved, but I can't seem to find an answer to this.

Chris, the two orange caps are normal. You would have to remove the small pail orange disk capacitor in the treble circuit and put a piece of wire in it's place...

That sounds like a Jazz Bass palm muted w/ a pick and some boosting in the mids. I can emulated that sound on my Jazzes, but choose not to at the moment... ;-}

I'm sorry to let it go, but I never play it. In addition, my first real bass is my 4003 that I have modified with v63 parts. I will never get rid of the 4003. I'm starting to work on amplifiers and figure out how to design stuff, so I need to free up funds for that. First stop, a '66 Dual Showman ...

I'm in as well. Consider a v64 or v65: Larger horseshoe surround as opposed to the v68... Look at that, I'm talking as if these models exist!

I'm surprised at how many ebay listings I see by people selling Rickenbackers that don't know anything about the instruments. Cranberry? Maybe he likes Xmas diner so much he names colors after the dishes and sides... "Stuffing Tan", "Turkeyburst", "Fresh-baked-bread White", "Gravyglo", "Crimson of ...

There's something to be said for researching and questioning the snot out of something you're going to lay down over a grand for. This doesn't excuse bad sellers on ebay however. As ****** as I would be, I'd have to look at the facts and realize I didn't do my homework before throwing money at the ...

Yeah, it you go to the G&G cases website, it gives you a bit of history about the guitar case industry. The company that WAS G&G before G&G was the name did in fact make cases for Fender, Rickenbacker, etc. Now G&G makes cases for damn near every guitar co., including Rickenbacker and Fender. I ...

Someone here please try a set of Pyramid Roundwounds. I've heard nothing but good things about their rounds for guitar. Maybe it's worth a try. This sounds counterintuitive but one of the reasons I only use flats is because I could not find a consistent roundwound, among many other reasons. Hey, if ...

Notice also that Rickenbacker and Fender were both using "large-style" Kluson Tuners at the same time. Since both of these companies are linked in the early years, I wonder if they were using the same supplier...

Notice there's no real "hook" on the upper horn/bout of the body. Must've changed that soon after to better complement the headstock. Yeah the cresting wave "r" of the body on cartoon-like "r" on the headstock looks forever perfect. Don't know if I'd rather listen to or look at my two Ricks ...
