I'd say you can't go wrong with a Stratocaster.

Well, you can go wrong depending on the build of the guitar itself, because I've played some really nice Strats, and some really lousy Strats, regardless of where they were made. It's a guitar you really can't buy sight unseen.

What happens when you only start playing the guitar in 2002:

- POS Tradition classical guitar (dig the painted fretboard that cause my fingers to go black if I touch the thing).
- 2001 Fender American Stratocaster Sunburst
- 2005 Rickenbacker 360/6 VP Fireglo

I reiterate my feelings on the spaghetti tailpiece;

anything would be nicer looking than it.

I think I'll go ahead and swear by a 360/6 FG...though the 330 is a nice model as well, essentially without all the deluxe trappings of the 360.

I personally think you can't go wrong with either, and for what it's worth, the only other guitar I own is a Fender Strat, and I have no issue with ...

I personally prefer seeing bands as themselves covering Beatle tunes (Oasis comes to mind, but I'm not a big fan, so that's moot).

I can dig if people use Casinos, Rics, Strats, or Hofners for the covers, because it's faithful to the Beatles' 'sound', but to go as far as getting similar haircuts ...
