Re: my band split up...

Glad things are looking up for you, Bob. My band has been everything from a 5 piece to 3 piece. We've been 'together' for about 15 years but only me and the drummer are original members. We've had 4 different guitar players over the years. Two have left, come back, and one of those left again. Anoth...

Thats a shame, Grendel. I remember when you ordered that bass. I had never heard if you recieved it or not and am really surprised that you haven't gotten it yet. Maybe things will work out well for you in the end. I hope so.

I've been eyeing those Curt Mangan strings, too. I'm looking forward to someone posting a review of them. They DO make good financial sense for someone who changes strings frequently.

at least no one has said Torme--toe (as in Mel Torme)as of yet. I just say Rick as only a very few in my neck of the woods actually know whay one is anyway. All I get is..."That sure is a purty gee-tar. Whut kind izzit?" Then I have to go and explain what it is. When people hear it, though...

I had a P-bass, a Jazz, a Carvin, and a Hofner-esque Jay Turser. Then I bought a 4003 at a music store.......The Turser and the P bass are gone, the Carvin is taken apart and stripped down for a refin and the Jazz is rarely getting any attention at all. All Rickenbacker all the time.

Like I said over at "the 'Pit", Hank covers (or used to cover in the '80s) Aerosmith. Skynyrd and ZZ Top among others. He at least 'used' to have this lefty bass player who always played a P-bass. Real good player. Nothing fancy but steady as anything. Have a great time and be sure to post...

There was a little guitar shop in town here (since gone out of business) that had a solid white Longhorn that I almost bought but bought a Jazz bass instead. The Jazz is a great player and is my back up to my Ric but I wonder if I'd taken that Dano..................?

Okay, since you asked, I'll give you my opinion. First of all, I've been a bass player for 20+ years. I prefer Ric basses for their sound, and easy playability. I also have two Fender basses......perfectly fine basses in their own right and I do occaisionally play them. I guess I like the neck on my...
