Pickup mix and match?

I was wondering if anyone on the forum has ever put both a Toaster and a Hi-Gain pickup on any of their Rickenbackers? I have a new 330-12 with Hi-Gains on it but I want to switch the bridge pickup to a Toaster for more vintage tones. As I generally only use the bridge pickup, I don't necessarily ...

Re: Ric review in Guitar Aficionado mag

I bought one copy of it and I agree - its very pretentious. No way I'd ever buy one again, but its good to see some publicity for the Rickenbackers. They rarely, if ever, get covered in the rest of the guitar magazines I see.

Re: Ok, Here it is!

Really, you can't leave negative feedback for a non-paying buyer anymore? I didn't know that...nor do I particularly understand it. But eBay ain't what it used to be, that's for sure. Still you have to hand it to the good people at RIC for hitting a home run with this guitar. Another side benefit of ...

Re: Ok, Here it is!

Yeah, I guess I just never imagined a non-celebrity owned Rickenbacker could ever fetch that kind of price. Its really boggling!

Re: Any forum members from Edmonton Alberta

I've only ever played with friends - I played drums with some friends back in the mid-90s and we played some parties, then just getting together for fun after that for a few years. Most of my musical buddies moved away or had children and so on, so I just play to amuse myself. The last thing I did ...

Re: Any forum members from Edmonton Alberta

I can't stand John Mayer, never could. Keith Urban is amazing though - I saw him live about 3 years ago and it was a great concert. I don't play with other people, do you?

CJJ, you do have too much stuff!

Re: Prices falling in Canada

$1750 is pretty sweet for a 370/12 - I flipped one last summer and got $2100 for it, but it was Mapleglo.

Re: Prices falling in Canada

I had a huge credit at a local store and then traded some more stuff for my most recent Rickenbacker, but I think prices are actually pretty high here. My 330/12 was around $2100, which is pretty expensive.

Re: Any forum members from Edmonton Alberta

Hey Brian,

I'm a guitar person, although I did own a 4003 for a while but I didn't play it very often so I traded it for another guitar. Musically I'm not a prog rock guy, although as a good Canadian I do have a couple of Rush albums, and always enjoyed Alex Lifeson's guest appearances on Trailer ...

Re: My New (used) 660/12 AFG

I think the oven knobs are pretty ugly, not just dorky. I've never seen a guitar I've liked them on.

I'm out in Stony Plain, so pretty close by. I grew up in Edmonton in the Jasper Place/West Meadowlark area.

Re: My New (used) 660/12 AFG

I switched the octave strings on my 660/12 as well and it didn't need any nut work - I found it a bit chimier but a little less Rickenbacker-y if that makes sense. You'll have to post pictures of yours though - we all love a nice flamey 660/12 in Fireglo. Oh, and congratulations!

Great choice Warren - there's nothing more classic than a 330 in a nice, deep Fireglo. Enjoy!

Re: 370 MID value question

Interesting, thanks to everyone that's replied so far. He sent me pics and the 370 does have FWI and the smaller headstock (no surprise there). Its weird though - all the Rickenbackers I've watched on eBay lately have struggled to make $1300 but LP's seem to go higher. I sold my 360FG before ...
