Rickenbacker in australia

was talking to a local dealer the other day and he mentioned that the distributor for rickenbacker in australia is pulling out of the market and not accepting new orders.

Apparently there are 200-300 rickenbackers on order from various parts of the country with no eta, and many of them have been ...

Leave My Kitten Alone

It's a great sleeper track on Anthology 1. I was reading one of Lewishons books the other day, and he went into elaborate detail how the Beatles stayed back late to record 5 takes and overdub the song, only to leave it off the subsequent LP and never return to it.

He made the statement that (at ...

like I said, it is a fantastic bass, I can't really fault it, and the beatle vibe had a lot to do with its purchase

it was just disappointing to pay 5 grand (8 grand list) and after playing it, getting the similar feeling from a $600 MIJ Fender bass. Lucky it was in stock, cause I would have been ...

4001c64 objective ?

I recently acquired a fireglo 4001c64. It is a wonderful bass and plays fantastically. It has the cool Beatle vibe with the reverse headstock.

Really, the only two things that are bugging me about it, I was wishing the fireglo finish was darker like how you see Paul's in photos from the mid 60's ...

Thanks for the input, for the record its not the playboy magazine, but the republished book I am reading. It seemed that in those interviews, Lennon really put it all out there. Prior to Dec 1980 the other Beatles were tight lipped, sure they go into detail in the Anthology project, but not prior to ...

Lennons playboy interviews

I have been reading with great interest Lennon's lengthy interview regarding the beatles, particulary the playboy interviews. He is so direct in everything he describes.

Did the other 3 beatles talk in this much detail about the band prior to December 1980?

Mark lewishon - the beatles anthology albums

Given that Mark Lewishon has heard all the emi tapes, has he ever discussed in interviews emi tracks or takes that he has heard that haven't been bootlegged and also didn't end up on the beatles anthology albums.

On the Anthology DVD the three beatles are in the mixing room listening to take 1 of ...

but still John Lennon circa 1964 is about the coolest thing going, so I was forced to buy a ...

Is the 4001c64 available in 2005 color Blueburst?

That would look fab with the reverse headstock and the dark blue and lighter blue headstock coloring.

Pauls darker fireglo 4001 vs reissue 4001 64's

I have been looking at photos of pauls original 64 4001 around the time of 1965-1966 and the finish seems way darker than the current 4001 64 reissue, the firegloe seems to be bright red instead of a dark brown red. is this really so?
