I recently acquired a fireglo 4001c64. It is a wonderful bass and plays fantastically. It has the cool Beatle vibe with the reverse headstock.

Really, the only two things that are bugging me about it, I was wishing the fireglo finish was darker like how you see Paul's in photos from the mid 60's ...

is any rickenbacker model available with pearloid scratchplates and nameplates, instead of plain white?

I have been reading with great interest Lennon's lengthy interview regarding the beatles, particulary the playboy interviews. He is so direct in everything he describes.

Did the other 3 beatles talk in this much detail about the band prior to December 1980?

help me! the problem I am having is that I will click on a thread that has like 58 posts in it, but it takes me to the end of the thread with the last five replies or whatever. I can't figure out how to read the start of the thread when it runs over many pages.

I have been looking at photos of pauls original 64 4001 around the time of 1965-1966 and the finish seems way darker than the current 4001 64 reissue, the firegloe seems to be bright red instead of a dark brown red. is this really so?
