Compressor other than Janglebox

Can someone offer a cheaper alternative to a Janglebox that does the trick for less money? I'm trying to keep it between $125-$150. There is a slew of them out there (Keely, Ross, Analog Man, MXR DynaComp, BOSS CS-2 or 3, Ross etc.) Somebody must be using something that comes close to a JB. I recent...

I always thought that Ringo was the glue that held all the personalities together when things started to get edgy. As far as what would the band have been like had Pete Best remained their drummer is really a non issue. His personality may have fit but his timing would not have. Especially later on ...

What is the best Beatles Songbook?

I want to get a Beatles songbook (I do NOT read music) and want one that is fairly easy to understand but more importantly is ACCURATE. I have had a few songbooks in the past that had me wondering just what the transcriber was listening to. (A Jethro Tull one comes to mind) Any recommendations?

John Lennon came to Syracuse NY in the spring of 1971. I believe it was in support of an Indian tribe and some situation they were having, that for the life of me I cannot remember. He was actually here another time for Yoko's "art" exhibit at the Everson Museum. Anyway I was a senior in h...

I went to Amazon to order and found a number of Lewisohn Beatle books. Some with extremely similar titles and some with the same title and different covers. Can somebody help with the multiple choices? He couldn't have written that many books on the same subject. HELP!

Spoken Intro To Taxman / Best Beatle Book

I have looked and looked on the internet trying to find out who speaks the intro (1,2,3,4) part to Taxman. My friend insists it's John and to me it doesn't sound like any of the Beatles. I have been a Beatle fan from the beginning but have no idea who counts it off. Also what is the best book on the...

Maple VS Rosewood VS Mahogany Backs

I have had a few acoustic guitars over time and have yet to find the combination of woods that finally made me say WOW. My last guitar was a Taylor (Grand Auditorium) 414CE with a spruce top and ovankgol back and sides. That guitar has a sweet top end and midrange but was lacking low end. Something ...

How can you even consider a *best of* or *anthology* or *essential hits* one of the top albums when it's a bunch of albums on one. Not a very fair selection process. Collections should not even be considered. Comparing an album done in one year to a best of collection taken off of a number of albums...

Brian, That is all I am trying to say. You have the right to your opinion as do I. I didn't say this was a newspaper. I was trying to convey that this forum (and most others) is similar to the editorial/opinion section in a newspaper. And it can't be just Peter's opinion that matters. All of our opi...
