To All,
Were the bridge pickup covers ever metal? I pulled mine out of the case the other day and was suprised to find it was molded plastic. It's been off for years and years (early 80's) when I bought my bass. I had always thought I remembered it was metal.... I guess not. This is a 4001
Cheers ...

To All,
This pedal sounds interesting.... Where is this available now. I look it up on line and it does not seem to be in stores yet. Am I missing something or do you guys just have the scoop!
Cheers, Mike

Cap on Bridge Pickup
To All,
I'm sure this has been asked before....
What years was the capacitor put on the bridge pickup. Was it all the 4001's

Chrome Pickguard and TRC
Hey All,
I recently saw a '76 MG 4001 that had a chrome pickguard and a chrome truss rod cover. Upon first insepction, I thought they were after market but as I looked closer they seem to be factory issue. Has anyone seen anything like this before?
Cheers, Mike

Re: Bending shoes
To All,
I am looking at bending mine on my 2001 v63. I am very concerned about these snaping. They do look like a casting to me.
Cheers, Mike

Pickup Rattle / Microphonics
To All,
I was fortunate enough to aquire an unused V63 a couple of weeks ago. She is absolutley beautiful!
In playing the other night, I heard what I thought to be distortion from my amp. After further investigation, I found that the neck pickup would 'buzz' on certain notes. The pickup is very ...

Strap Lock Question
Hey All,
I know there have been many posts about strap locks...
I was suprised to find that the screws holding the strap buttons on my V63 were quite a bit larger then the wood screws that come with the Jim Dunlop strap locks. I am thinking that I will have to drill out the holes in the strap ...

Re: Got My Bass! - Setup Questions
Hey All,
Thanks for those suggestions.... Looks like I'm going to Stu-Mac for some files.
The volume suggestion is helpful. I had the bridge pickup on 6-7 to balance the neck. I may just pull the pickguard off to satify my own curiosity and try and see how that horseshoe assembly is put together ...

Got My Bass! - Setup Questions
Hey All,
I'm new on the forum. I just received my V63 late yesterday, just in time for rehersal! By the end of the evening I had got to a really nice, balanced tone and my bandmates commented on how the bass cut thru the mix well.
There seem to be a noticable difference in the output levels of the ...
