Re: 480 De-Mod Project
This is going on the bridge position of a 330, so any signs of not looking "factory" will stick out like a sore thumb. Mike, They're under the pick guard now, but I seem to recall the gap between the base and the cover was very close, just not right in contact. and the gaps in the toaster...

Re: 480 De-Mod Project
I seem to recall it was mostly the sides that were making it a little snug. The chrome bar of the cover just rests on the top on mine but up close you can just barely see the gaps in the sides of the toaster slots as the HB-1 has for it's elevated rectangular "notch" area for its standard ...

Re: 480 De-Mod Project
Looks great Chip!!! How did you put the toaster cover on the HB-1? I tried that years ago and it didn't seem to fit, so rather than force anything, I left it alone. Hey thanks Mike! It is a very tight fit but I've done it three times now (all 3 of my 480's have this mod). I nurse the cover over it ...

Re: 1981 610 purchase question
Harry, welcome to the forum and enjoy that Ric. I too love the body style and love the 610. It is truly looked over but it's unbound body and dotted fretboard just screams rock and roll to me. But I'm tall and it just looks tiny on me. I had a 620 and lots of peole joked how small it was on me. But ...

Re: 480 De-Mod Project
Thanks Mitch. I was fortunate enough to have a friend that could help me with the Bowen Handle patch up. I think he nailed the shade over the plugs well. When your up close you can the "circles", but the rest of her looks so nice your eyes just move away from them and you can't tell. As Do...

Learn about Flexible Spending Accounts while you gaze at a sharp 480 in FireGlo. I found I had to watch it a few times due to GGD (Gorgeous Guitar Distraction).

May I suggest a possible option? Buy a 7.4K toaster and if you don't like it, and have it rewound to 12K.

Re: 480 De-Mod Project
Great job restoring your 480. I picked up a '75 480 recently that is all original except for the tuners (70's Grovers installed). I want to convert back to Klusons....would double lines be the correct version for this guitar? Thanks Scott, but I had help with the wood repair and finish touch up. As...

Re: Ric Rescue a Moron did this to a 60's Rickenbacker 345T
Looks really nice. It's going to to be a sweet guitar. FYI that I put a Winfield Vintage roller bridge on that 480 with the Bigsby B5 and it's sweet. Stays in tube nicely.
