It won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but I rather like it. ‘79 4001 V57H.

It's gone out to a pickguard maker (in a revised version) to be cut in gold acrylic.

Re: '57-'62 4000 series original pickguard
Not had a lot of luck sourcing a 4001 version of the 57-62 PG so if you want something done...
Work in progress - 1st card pattern mounted on my 4001S. Thought some of you might be interested. If and when it gets to a finished item, I'll post it. Going to be in gold, obvs.

Re: Nice ‘65 4001 on ebay
ED621, 171 before mine but same month. Wonder what the bass production volumes were in ‘65?
Some repaired fingerboard separation, apparently. Super necks on these, though, very slim.

Re: Nice ‘65 4001 on ebay
Something was definitely going at the headstock/nut area. And some electronics work too. I shall resist, manfully.
Wonder how many more 65s are still out there...

Re: Rickenbacker 4002 Bass Companion Video
Thanks, Chris!
The bridge is a Starz Guitars bridge. Story is that this bass was given by Geddy Lee to his keyboard tech. As well as the bridge it is modded for through-body stringing. I did try it with the stock bridge but I prefer the action with the Starz.

Re: Horseshoe Pickups
Excellent thread.
It so happens I have the makings of a Horseshoe - an old base plate, a bobbin and a pair of magnetised horseshoes. However, I'm no tech and how to wire the pup is a mystery to me.Here's the underside. Can anyone tell me what wires I need to add to connect to electrics?

Re: Rickenbacker 4002 Bass Companion Video
Excellent video, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Love my ‘81 4002. Pity they don’t offer the pups and pick guard styling today, even on a more standard finish 4003 platform.

'57-'62 4000 series original pickguard
Hi,
I know everyone is over at FB these days but it's not really my thing and I know there are still some folks here in the real world.
Bit of a left field question. I recently took a couple of wounded 4001's out from "under the bed" and put them back in working order. Loving them both.
