Re: My Fireglo 4001c64s from 2006..a ltd run or special order?

[quote="rickaddict"]I really like the look of a bridge hi-gain and small surround on a V63/C64/RM1999 (not to mention the feel!)

Yeah I tend to agree whit you rickaddict...and the bass sounds ACE whit the high gain together whit the toaster...IMO it´s a big bonus not to have the pick up cover in ...

Re: My Fireglo 4001c64s from 2006..a ltd run or special order?

Hi guy´s its been a while since my last post here...well here is some photos on my Ric...since the last time I have a original 4003 pick up on it in the bridge and now the bridge pick up sits as stable as on my 4003.
The pick up that I mounted out was from a early 70´s 4001.
So here comes the pics ...

Re: SOMEONE STOLE MY RIC

I get so mad when I read things like that......even if you´ve got a inchurance on your instrument and can be compensated some of the economical, loss that is one thing....but for many musicans the instrument will be a very personal thing you sorta grove together.
I really hope you´ll get your bass ...

ABM Bridge or BadassII on 4003/4001?

Hi friends...I have noticed that there is quite a lot of talking about the HIPSHOT replacement bridge on both this forum and even on the official RIC site.
I just wonder have anyone of you tried to put a ABM bridge...like the one thats on the 4004 bass on a regular 4003/4001?
And if so is it a easy ...

Re: Wobbly treble pickup on 4001c64s...

Hi Jeff & Thanks for your reply here.

Know I know that the bridge pickup is probaly from a 70´s RIC knock off...well it can be from a 70´s RIC but I doubt it...because otherwise I hadn´t been forced to do this mod.
Anyway I was lucky to stumble on genuine RIC 4003 bridge pick up..so I will put this ...

Re: Wobbly treble pickup on 4001c64s...

Another happy customer!

Well let´s say that I'm satisfied with the fact that the pickup works as it should now....but to say that Im another Happy customer would be a overstatement.
Dont get me wrong here but since Rickenbacker has this IMO very odd policy that they dont sell the reissue ...

Re: Wobbly treble pickup on 4001c64s...

Thanks for the reply jps....I bought some really hard springs...and then I put some black plastic foam under the pick up and on the sides in the route...and now its superstable dosent wobble at all anymore.... :D
Best Dan.

The route is the same size, but perhaps the springs are too weak, causing ...

Wobbly treble pickup on 4001c64s...

I have this 4001c64s that I have bought second hand...and some of the previous owners (I am the third one.)
Anyway the have removed the Horse Shoe and put a highgain in the bridge instead.
This Highgain dosen´t look like the high gain on my 4003....so this makes me wonder if a solution could be to ...

Re: Lemmy's Rics

I know that Lemmy has been using his 4004's for a while now (wonder if he ever uses anything else?)

Question is - when he was a 4001/03 player, did he have them modified? I'm sure that I read somewhere once about mods carried out for whatever reason?

Some of the mods Lemmy did on his Rics was to ...

Hmmm sounds interesting...cured dead dead spots on the Bass.....Cassius...what are the model number for these tuners?
Best Dan. :)

[quote="cassius987"]I like Hipshot ultralight tuners. I put them on my 2008 Ric because it had a dead spot and they cured it and cleaned the tone up. Iquote]
