Re: Dancing with a Ric
This was posted on the FDP. Wait for the solo at 1:35! bfKARbdtwck LOL! I will bookmark this as an example of why so many folks think the disco era was cheesy. Check these guys: M0k0z2MtvLY Yanni when he was cutting his teeth? Surely this turned into an adult video shoot after the song was done?

If you think a Taylor user got upset that the airline busted his axe, just think what woulda happened if they had busted someone's Rick!

Re: KIA Forte TV Ad Shows Rick Bass
Thanks for confirming that there is a front view of the bass. If anyone finds that version of the ad on YouTube, Hulu or some other such site, please post a link.

KIA Forte TV Ad Shows Rick Bass
I saw this ad earlier tonight. Look carefully, at about 0:42 there is a band and the bass player appears to be playing a Mapleglo 4000 series bass. You only see the back of it. I swear when I saw this on TV they showed the front as well for an instant, but can't find that version of the ad. YouTube ...

The Archies Play Rickenbacker!
In the clip linked below, The Archies play "Jingle Jangle" in a live action movie based on the cartoon characters and their band. Archie plays a Tele, Reggie plays a lefty Rickenbacker bass! What's more, the Ricky gets more love than the Tele. Near the end of the clip, the band gets interr...

Re: Model of the Week 27: The NEW Rickenbacker bass . . .
My wish list is simple. Bring back the 4001S at a reasonable price and I might just take two - one MG and one FG. Use the black vintage knobs but appoint it with forward turning tuners. Offer it with walnut headstock wings and a satin finish. And please, no artificially aged/yellowed nonsense or oth...

Re: String Gauges
So Rickenbacker err a bit on the lighter side from the factory? What brands of bass strings come prepackaged in Rick's specification (Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly are TI's?)? FWIW I use D'Addario XL's on all my basses, .040 - .095. My action is set as low as I can get it, and the neck dead...

Re: Did they really make a short scale 4003?
The 350-style body shape like I used on my modified 2030 would make a really nice short-scale bass. This is an instance where I actually remembered to plan ahead and measure the case before building the body, and to get it to fit in there, the bridge (Schaller) had to be moved way back to the end o...

Re: Acoustic B600H Amp
Be careful boys.....Acoustic heads have been known to cause brain and hearing damage. And if you can find one of these old Sunn 18" folded horn bass bins, you won't need any other speakers. As I remember it, yeah those folded horn cab's of yesteryear were dangerous (I also remember watching pe...

Depending on who you are and what you are into, the German Hofner "Beatle Bass" is either an overpriced item or a work of art worth every penny it costs. I happen to be a Beatlemaniac, so guess what? LOL! My Hofner is the Contemporary (CT) 500/1. It is manufactured in China to Hofner's spe...

Re: Official Prediction Thread- C series replacement
If you ever get around to doing a medium scale, post pic's so we can see how the body/headstock look in relation to the shorter neck.
In the meantime, I will continue saving for the time when either a C64 turns up or a replacement model is introduced.

Re: Did they really make a short scale 4003?
Yup, that relocated bridge does not look right. That is at the heart of my interest in a completely redesigned instrument, rather than an existing one modified in that manner. I am aware of both Alembic and Birdsong, but I doubt that either of those companies would build me a medium scale "Rick...

Re: Official Prediction Thread- C series replacement
I will keep your offer in mind. Per your response in another thread, I take it you mean to modify an existing Rick to medium scale, not build one from the ground up? Has this been tried already, and if so are there any photos of the results? I would be very interested in seeing how that looks.
