I love seeing an old white bass that has discoloured to that lovely creamy tone.
Wear on a bass needs to be original, signs of a hard working life.. none of this relicing for me!!

Re: FLAME
That really is unique! And a great back story too, it would have been sacrilege if it had been destroyed.

Re: Silver sparkle 4001 on eBay
Thanks for the info!
So it does seem to be a bit of a mongrel..made up from a variety of sources. Which to me makes it rather overpriced, even if the body is a '72 so much else would need to be sourced and done to it to bring it back close to it's original state.
I still like that silver sparkle ...

Silver sparkle 4001 on eBay
Wow!! I love this finish!! But, the lister says it was a custom finish. OK by that does he mean factory custom or a non genuine re-finish?
Also, the tuning keys... they are so wrong, just don't look man enough for the job! The lister says they are Rick parts, is this oorrect?
Anyway, enjoy :D ...

Ooh, do you use the Bassballs much? I discovered that it produced a sound I'd heard that I particularly like and have been thinking about getting one, but just wondering if it'a a bit of a one trick pony.

I agree with the "silver raindrops" detail, works so well with the chequered binding

Exactly. So they've either lost it, bought it used without a case, or maybe stole it!!marc61 wrote:Is there in fact a Rickenbacker that did NOT come with a case? I know you can sometimes upgrade to vintage style.
Never seen a Ricken-gig-bag either
It'll be interesting to see what it goes for though.

Re: 4003SPC Tuxedo on eBay
I agree. But I had a look and it seems to be just one negative over 12 months ago and without knowing the details, it could be a misunderstanding by the buyer.
