Well, that 'C64 went for $2125 on eBay. That's only $475 less than the one I bought... You win some, you lose some.... I hope that our Simmers was the lucky winner of that guitar. Looks like a nice one.
Cheers, Ricara

Re: 325C58's Going Cheap on eBay
That will be mine in 4 days. Well maybe. I will be bidding to win on that one. They say there are two ways to bid on eBay -- "Bid for a bargain and hope to win". or "Bid to win and hope for a bargain". With the rate the 'C-series have been bringing, it's pretty clear what that g...

Re: 325C58's Going Cheap on eBay
Charles, like you and Kira, I'm a HUGE fan of short-scaled guitars. The information re: the stickers being made in China came was posted by John Hall on this very Forum maybe 2-3 years ago. Now, as to whether HE was kidding, I'll let you decide. As noted above, I bought the 'C64 from eBay. I'm look...

Re: 325C58's Going Cheap on eBay
Charles, I hope your recovery goes in the best possible direction for you. I suffer since three years ago from constant and severe back and neck pain caused by arthritis and nerve damage. There's more but I try not to feel too sorry for myself, seeing as I'm still on my feet. Yikes, I'm sorry to he...

Re: 325C58's Going Cheap on eBay
Thanks very much for the kind wishes! Kiramdear, I hope you don't have a spinal cord injury in common with me -- that's something that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy... As far as a lapsteel, I don't really have time to learn a new instrument. But I do have to say that some of David Lindley's work...

Charles: It is good that you have been able to voice your opinion. It will be very interesting to see what model of Rickenbacker you choose after your research and discussion here. We will help you find the Rickenbacker of your dreams. :) Thanks for your vote of support! I've more or less pi...

Re: Beatles and their Casinos
The standard MIC Casinos always bug me because the neck joins at the 17th fret, not the 16th like the ones the Beatles used. That means the pickups and bridge are shifted higher and the whole guitar looks different. The ES-335 neck joins at the 19th fret, which I would wager is for accessibility ra...

Re: 325C58's Going Cheap on eBay
Charles, in your pursuit of 30 posts to gain access to the marketplace you need to be careful that your views are not seen as being somewhat antagonistic and over the top. Posts that border on preaching about corporate policies or political statements will eventually get you into serious hot water ...

Re: 325C58's Going Cheap on eBay
You're right, of course. The main thing is that Ric keep buying their wood from US lumber mills, keeps building the guitars in-house, keeps using in-house spray booths (where the workers have protective equipment and the hazardous waste is disposed of properly). A cheap sticker is nothing. But hones...

Re: 325C58's Going Cheap on eBay
I'm kind of a hard-ass on the "made in US" issue. As I said, I work for a company that makes home stereo equipment. It's very easy to save money by purchasing Chinese parts. But we go out of our way to hold the line. We're just a tiny company with a dozen-and-a-half employees. But we pay t...

Re: Beatles and their Casinos
For all of the Epiphone experts out there, JustBassics noted that the ES-335 neck joined the body two frets higher than the Casino. Presumably this was due to the internal construction of the '335, but does anybody know if the ES-330 was like the Casino in this regard or like the ES-335? Also, Casin...

Re: Beatles and their Casinos
Actually, the Casino most closely resembled the Gibson 330 in body and electronics -- like the Casino, the 330 no "center block" but was a true hollow-body, also with P-90s but usually w/out a VB. The 335 had a "center block" -- a solid piece of wood in the center of the body in...

Re: Beatles and their Casinos
I used to play and collect guitars in the early '70s. We never considered Epiphones to be desirable at all. They were still made in Gibson's Kalamazoo factory back then. Basically they were just poor-man's Gibsons. The Casino was more-or-less a Gibson ES-335, but without the humbucker pickups -- jus...

Re: 325C58's Going Cheap on eBay
the MADE IN USA stickers are made in China...) How goofy is that? What did they save, $0.03 per guitar? It's not like a US-made sticker would have cost enough to affect the price of the guitar.... We're in a business manufacturing home stereo equipment. Some of our competitors end up getting expens...
