Re: Short scale basses
Hi, I love short scale basses, as well as long scale. My favorite is my Rick 3000 (DR sunbeams) for many reasons. My short scale Thunderbird is excellent, eb3, eb2d, three different Les Paul short scales ect. I have asked Rickenbacker and Mr. Hall to make more short scales, but they seem to think it...

Re: Walnut 4003
Well thanks for the nice comments, my own opinion before posting was similar to Paul's post. Thank you Paul. I have wanted one for a while and started thinking if they discontinue, the prices might spike. Then yes, after zero comments I realized few know what Rickenbacker plans so it might be a hard...

Walnut 4003
Question, does anyone know if Rickenbacker intends to make the walnuts for a limited time or for a long time? Probably a mystery.

Here's another one(1993), just like the other one, I've been hangin on to it, and I'll never let it go. A unique Rickenbacker bass that plays and sounds great. A lot of fun.

Re: My first Gibson bass purchase ever....
Interesting to read opinions, especially from musicians. I am a Gibson/Rickenbacker guy, although I do have one American fender P with a Jazz pu on it. I play all my basses depending on the situation. Three excellent Ricks (3000 is incredible) along with a 4004 and 2060 all completely different in t...

I won't quit my day job, but here I go Music is a language all can understand Not every one can speak it That's why there's bands Imitation and replication is not art Creativity and application are worlds apart Rickenbacker, through years of design Created instruments that expanded our minds To make...

Re: Chris Squire has passed . . .
Years ago,I saw Yes backing up Jethro Tull, Chris Squire and Glenn Cornick (passed also)playing their butts off. The bass was a huge part of the sound, it was inspiring. Don't forget we lost Jack Bruce also recently.

Re: Dirty Maple necks
Yes, I don't mind the worn look either, its the dirty, I don't respect my instrument look that bothers me. Character is good, neglect is not. All good points, thank you.

Re: Dirty Maple necks
Sorry, I wasn't clear, impregnated is a good word describing the grime. I also meant without damaging anything. Thanks

Dirty Maple necks
Hi, probably discussed before, but does anyone have any special techniques for cleaning the black looking stains from hand grime (not mine) on both sides of a maple neck? I would like to do this without damaging the finish. Thank you.

Re: Restored Rickenbacker 3000
Always nice to see a classic bass brought back to life, especially the 3000. Dave, keep a vigilant eye on ebay and the forum, you will find one. I had two, but one was quite abused so I sold it. The other is one of my main playing basses. So easy to play, great tones.
