I record on a PC, using a Tascam interface and Cubase. I do everything in the box with software. I use a modded cheap ribbon mic and a homemade tube LDC. I recently ventured into MIDI and bought a keyboard, which has opened up a world of fun stuff. Now I can do anything from a simple penny whistle t...
It was Garnet Rogers brother Stan that got me interested in DADGAD, and I've kept a Guild 12 string in that tuning for years. It's not for everything, but it has a very wonderful, distinct sound, especially on a 12 string.
Acoustic and electric guitar, five string banjo, upright and electric bass, mandolin, uke, tiple, harmonica, and whatever else someone will pay me to play .

I have a terrible time with them on guitar, however. I've tried to emulate Bob Gibson's finger picking on the acoustic 12 stri...
The Pure Western's are great. I like the fact that a preamp is not a must-have. They work very well in passive mode, they sound great, and they are relatively easy to install.
