Re: 4001C64S Neck
Thanks. Kinda thought that. Any thoughts why they went to the 2 piece for the 64S?

4001C64S Neck
When did Rickenbacker change the neck on the 4001C64S? I just picked one from '06 that has a one piece neck and it is fantastic. I know there has been a lot of discussion about the two types. Which style, one or two piece is true to the era?

Re: Which one to keep
I am very confused by some of the politics here. jps suggested to another member that he should buy one of my basses so I get in trouble. Too much drama when I was really only seeking advise but then prompted by jps to sell it. Go figure.

Re: Which one to keep
Thanks for all the input. I am confused again. The headstock on the C64 is not only reversed but is is huge in comparison to the V63. The tuners on the C64 are different and also nickel and not chrome.

Re: Which one to keep
I have lined them all up and it looks like all 3 of my V63's have much smoother and tapered lines while the 2 - C64's and jetglo matte C64S are thicker and blockier? Is that normal?

Re: Which one to keep
My 95 4001V63 Jetglo is my #1. That one has the slimmest body and neck I have ever seen. In fact the jack plate over hangs the body edge in part. The horn contours are also very narrow. If the Mapleglo one were like this one it would be an easy choice.

Which one to keep
If you had to choose between two Rickenbacker basses which would you choose considering all things are equal as far as the bass itself goes.
1998 4001V63 Mapleglo
2010 4001C64 Mapleglo
Both are like new.
The 4001V63 has the one piece neck and a slimmer body profile and contours.
The 4001C64 has ...

Re: Testimonial: Rauen Guitars
I agree about Rauen. He refinished my Chris Squire to Candy Apple Red. Flawless brilliant work. I just wish I still had that bass.

Re: I need a little help
I know the feeling. In the 40+ years of have played they were all keepers. Hmmm I wonder what happened to my original EKO Violin bass? Good luck to you.

Re: Have you seen it?
Checked the register. No luck. It's probably under someones bed waiting to get played. Damn, I wish I would have kept that one.

Have you seen it?
Hello,
I am new to this forum but I am a long time Rickenbacker Bass player. I owned a Rickenbacker 4001 Chris Squire back in the late 80's early 90's. However, like a dope, I traded it for something else. The unique thing about it was that it had been professionally refinished nitro cellulose ...
