I wouldn't, I think it looks good as is and you would probably effect the value in a negative way if you do a re-fin.

Which one as a general rule puts more tension on the neck, flats or round wounds ?

I'm guessing you also could change the P-guard and other HDWR to white / chrome if you wanted to also.
