Thank you for all the replies so far.
Based on my immediate needs I've narrowed my choice to a combo. For the money it looks like Carvin and Yorkville will give the biggest bang for the buck.

No one has answered the 2x10 or 1x15 question. Any thoughts on which speakers would work best with a Ric ...

Bass Amplifier recommendations

Hello,
I have just ordered my first Bass (Ric 4003 in Montezuma Brown) and I need recommendations from experienced Bass Players. I am looking to purchase a bass amplifier with a budget no higher than $500.
1. What brands go well with a Ric? I am considering Yorkville(I play my 360 thru a Traynor ...

Hi Jim,

Bob Scott is absolutely correct. PM Blues stocks most (if not all)of their RICs with the VP options and only vintage cases. I purchased a 360 with toasters (midnight blue) two years ago. Price was reasonable and very competitive. The biggest selling point to me was the fact that I am the ...

Thank you for all the great feedback and advice.
I went to my guitar leasons on Tuesday at the local music shop. There was at least 6 ads "wanting" Bass players.

This evening I attended a Blues Jam in Northanpon, MA. Sat in the audience. So many guitar players and only one Bass player. The more ...

Advice on switching from Guitar to Bass

Hello,
I would like advice from Bass players and Guitarist who made the switch to Bass. I have only been playing for about two years. I'm into Beatles, Petty, U2, rock, blues and country. I'm no kid, 40 yrs old. I played half a--ed in high school and recently picked up playing the guitar again ...

Geoff,

I'm not sure if Jim Mouridian works on rics. I have seen his name mentioned on other web sites as a good tech.

I take my Ric 360 & 650 to either PM Blues in Pawtucket RI or Crossroads Music in Hanover, MA.

I live in Hanover so out of convenience I usually take them to Bob at ...

Rickenbacker 650 Atlantis

My wife, friends and co-workers don't understand how excited I was to pick up another Rickenbacker. So if you allow me, I will vent here to people who care. I added a Ric 650A to my existing collection of a Ric 360. I turn 40 in March 2005 and received permission to buy my Birthday present early ...

Thank you for adding that clip. The 650Dakota sounds great!! I didn't realize a RIC could get such tone and sounds. I'm still fairly new learning guitar,However I'm old enough (38) to know that it's easier to learn on a good quality american instrument.
I'll have to wait awhile before I ...

Opinions on 650 Dakota

Good Evening:
I'm new to the forum but have been reading the posts for several months. I currently own a 360-6 and I am very happy with it however I find myself wanting to make another RIC investment. I want something with more punch and I believe the 650 Dakota may be the way to go. Can someone ...

I would have to agree with Scott. Paul and Sean were great to deal with. I purchased a midnight blue 360-6 last January, the price was right, the service has been excellent and neither Paul or Sean used high pressure sales tactics. The best thing I liked about PM Blues was the fact that all ...
