Todd, I have a set of TI JS113 flat wound (.013 to .053) Jazz Swing Set.

The "D" string is a .028 and measures 40 1/4 inches not counting the ball on the end.
The "A" string is a .039 and measures 40 inches even not counting the ball on the end.

Seems like they may be too short for your needs ...

Jeffery that is a very nice Laramie 12.

After I played it, I commented to Rich Snyder that if I was single, that guitar would have been going home with me. It's a sweet piece. Congrats!

I think that the toasters on these guitars are before the 7.4K scatterwounds were made. On the 7.4K toasters, the corner screws are slotted head. If the screws are phillips head, the pickups are the earlier pickups.

As to the upper pickguard, just get that part. If it doesn't match then order the ...

Brad, I would re-contact them. They probably forgot to send the slotted head ones.

Thanks Gary,

I received a lot of help from revisiting the Vibrola Forum archives and reading some of the past posts from Mark Arnquest. He was able to set me on the right path to getting it corrected.

I sure wish Mark was still posting around here. He was definitely the RICK M.D.

I just got back home from MARF II and just want to say that it was GREAT!!! As much fun as it was at MARF I last year, this one was even better.

It was a gas to meet so many new fellow forum members face to face and to renew some friendships with the members I had met in the past. The stories and ...

John, check all the electronics in the MIJ/CIJ Fenders. The ones I've had all the pots and switches were ******. Worth swapping out if she's a "keeper".
The only one that I kept the pickups in was my Jerry Donahue Hellecaster Strat. It came stock with Duncan's

I've always admired the Beatles' work for the fact that they wrote most of the music they performed once they started recording. As most here, a list of my favorites would be way too long.

But, some of the stands out for me are: Please Please Me, I Want to Hold Your Hand, I Feel Fine, And Your ...

Brad, glad to hear you bridge cover is secure, even though the screws are not the "c63 correct"
ones. Are they out of stock on the slotted head ones and are they going to ship them when they are available?

Sounds kind of strange that they would knowingly send you the wrong part.

It's a shame you can't make it to MARF II. We could have had a party in your honor. O well, maybe next time.

OK, I thought about this problem last night and came up with a idea. Now, before I start this explanation understand that I will use as a reference the low E string, but the technique is the same, just repeated for the other strings.

Instead of using the 12 fret for a reference ( octave) to the ...

John, I would estimate the distance from the top of the first fret to the bottom of the low E to be about .040 to .045 of an inch. A little less on the high E side.

I'm sure it could be lowered some, but the guitar plays fine in the lower positions.

Thanks everyone for trying to help me out ...

The neck is straight. I use a straight edge to adjust it. The problem is, you tune both string to "read" in tune on the strobe, but when you fret them together they are not in tune with each other. I know for a fact that the low E string is the most off.

As to the adjustment of the bridge, are ...

Peter, IIRC the low E, D and G strings are the main ones.
No problem with the B and high E.
