Re: ric-o-sound!

To the guy askin about bass setups... I've plunked around with running my bridge pickup through my effects pedals, and running the neck pickup clean. I play a lot of 90's alternative stuff and it really gives a huge sound when I turn on the big muff on the bridge pickup and keep the other one clean ...

Re: Post of picture of you PLAYING your ric

haha! Fortunately I was drinking water at that point. So the chances of me bumping into it and getting it all over the place were slim.... Now if it were whiskey on the other hand.... I'd prolly have it on the floor! Usually I have a cup holder on my mic stand. But we were playing with other peoples ...

Re: Proud new owner of a Rickenbacker 4003!

Yea... I have really weird thumb placement habits... If im not playing slap then my thumb usually rests on the top curve of the body and stretch pretty far... I'm also notorious for free floating my hand... But sometimes the E string is where I find a home for my thumb lol... Ive seen pics of the ...

Re: Proud new owner of a Rickenbacker 4003!

Yea, that's an Ampeg V2 tube head... running a 15" (I think it's an old sirwin vega) speaker. It has a lot of thump, and a great all around tone.

I usually run a newer Fender Bronco amp (very small recording amp with a nice XLR output.) and that greatly minimizes stage volume and allows us to get ...

Joe, she is a beauty! Love the Maple Glo finish! Like you, my PU cover only lasted a few days. Filled the void with one of the bezel covers from tube ampology. I know you are loving that baby, You will love it more and more as time goes by. Here is a pic of my 2011 FG with the bezel cover installed ...

This is looking to be my setup for a pretty good gig I'm playing this weekend. I had to take the bridge pickup cover off, it was starting to cause some battle damage on my right wrist haha..

Proud new owner of a Rickenbacker 4003!

Just picked up my bass Saturday, and wow... I'm so glad I got it. Couldn't be happier, mapleglo finish, got to gig with it saturday night and it definitely turns heads and more importantly ears!
