Jeff-in the "I got a Pod X" or something thread you showed a pic of your graphic EQ setting...

My Behringer head has 5 tone knobs - Low, Low/mid, Mid, High/mid, and High. I decided to try an adaptation of your GEQ settings...

Low - 5
Low/Mid - 6
Mid - 4
High/Mid - 6
High - 5

Played the Laredo at rehearsal last night with that setting, and ~WOW~ Image Nice amount of bass, treble, cutting ability. Previously I had been running it close to flat, with the mids boosted a little bit.

I thought that you might appreciate that a "traditionalist" could learn a new trick from a more "modern" bass player! Image

Seems like it's a good compromise on the old "scoop" philosophy, but shifting the boost into the mids (at least along the edge of the mids), while still "scooping" the mid-mids.

Really felt and sounded good last night. Image

I used to do the happy face eq ... scoop out the mids and boost the highs and lows ... but that makes for undefined low end rumble and dinky highs ... but boosting the high and low mids really defines a bass sound ... the modern solid state amps have nice warm sounding mids ... 70's solid state amps had harsh atomic sounding mids that had to be scooped out ...

Trying to find some tech details about what frequencies are boosted by the EQ knobs on my Behringer...and of course there's precious little.

So I really don't know what frequency "Low", Mid" and "High" boost/cut. But the in-betweens are labeled: 140 Hz and 1.6 KHz.
So they are close to the 150 Hz and 2 KHz on Jeff's rig.

Just guessing that the 5 knobs have about the same ratios between them, my 5 EQ knobs would be (approximately) 40 Hz, 140 Hz (labeled), 500 Hz, 1.6 KHz (labeled), and 5.4 KHz.
