Actually (and I realize I'm splitting hairs here, and I have few of those to spare), Yogi's fame was keyed to his malaprops, not mixed metaphors.
As Yogi said, "You've got to be really careful if you don't know where you're goin', cause you might not get there."
Or: "You can observe a lot just by watchin'"
Sounds like butter belongs to another class of bafflegab: the non-sequitur. People who write these should pay attention to the first quote above!
