McCartney's Epiphone Texan
McCartney's Epiphone Texan
I see Musician's Friend has the replica for $40K. Just curious, I noticed that a new saddle was added to the piece somewhere along the line. The saddle is compensated to make the "G" (I think), the "B", and the "E" intonate correctly even though the saddle is inversly slanted for Paul's left handed playing. When did this modification take place? In all the footage for "Yesterday", I can't make out if the saddle has the compensations.
Good one, Dane. Bamboozled, snookered could also apply. But don't do this to your guitar at home.
40K is mighty steep and I bet it is more in the neighborhood of 4K (still a tad pricy)

The compensated saddle wasn't on it in the 60's, that's something he's had added more recently to replace the stock saddle.

“I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did.”
