i live in France and have bought one ric 360 here. The pigalle area has one or two good shops, but in comparison to the US, buying a guitar here is expensive and not an enjoyable experience. There are few rics and they are list at double us prices. occassionally nice stuff comes up, but, it is few and far between. The prices in the pigalle are essentially the same shop to shop; there is no real price reduction. For example, the negociation might be some free strings ...
Don't forget, a MIM fender runs here for just about what you'd pay street in the US for a ric 330. It has been some time since i've bought here and the lack of supply, price movement, attitude issues give the Parisian shops a bad reputation among the locals. Also, people don't have a ton of spare cash to put on a professional guitar, especially when the price point is double that of ones in the US.
