The only way I'd buy it was if it had the thinner neck profile, and sounded as good or better than a new one. If the neck is like the new ones, I'd rather buy a new one. New maple glo probably looks different than 20 yr old maple glo also.

Isn't that the truth? That seems to be the story with Rickenbacker basses and me. I started out with a new 4003 back in October and it's taken on a life of its own.
