Another great Mike Smith vocal track on this tune!

This song reminds me of Motown for some reason.

I think the DC songs were far and beyong better than the few descent ones The Who had. The Who had two great musicians in Entwistle & Moon.

Wow!Thanks for the info on the DC5 DVD.I think they are really underrated and had a powerful and unique sound.In the early months of 1964 they riveled the Beatles in marketing(DC5 dolls!)and exposure(Pop Music Magazines),at least that was my 10 year olds perspective at the time.Also,the their boots had higher heels!

Mitch that is the link I really referred to but they don't pay me to advertise. With respect to Mike, who gave the link, they are not official releases, I have had some items off them, some good some wanting but because in some instances, a lot actually, the rarity of the items one accepts it.

Probably would have had more but shipping to UK puts on another 30%, prompt delivery though.

I have a 45 where one side is a Beatles interview (in the USA), and the flip side is a DC5 interview.

While the Beatles had the press in the palm of their hand, the poor DC5 were treated totally differently. The press was almost openly hostile to them because the reporters just assumed that the DC5 only existed as a "me too" imitation of the Beatles, which of course was a false impression.

Roy... Dave Clark is still around, right? I hear that (unlike many pop stars) he made some shrewd business arrangements and continued to make money from the DC5 records over the years.... can you shed any light on Dave Clark?

Dave Clark is still around he became a fairly shrewd business man, acquired the rights to the UK TV series Ready Steady Go mentioned on another thread. Apparently he had the series re-edited so that DC5 were on every episode.

He produced a musical in London called Time which was I believe releatively successful, Cliff Richard appeared in it and a hologram of Laurence Oliver was used I understand.

It has emerged from some sources that allegedly (don't want to be sued)though he was listed as composer on a number of DC5 songs he hardly wrote any, some contractural obligation he came to with other band members. Again allegedly he hardly played drums on most records that was done by Bobby Graham a well respcted sesssion drummer who was in a couple of bands in UK that States wise none of you will have heard of, also in a band with Richie Blackmore called The Outlaws that made some fine instrumental singles, which I have, but apart from 2 very minor hits it was difficult for instrumental bands to get hits, the Shadows had cornered the market over here.
