To touch or not to touch the rods...

Euhm... I finally got THE tool to do the trick...

I adjusted the rods (counterclockwise at first, but I realised I had to do it clockwise

), and the neck was dead straight... So much I was surprised that after turning 1/4 turn, you could SEE the difference... GOOD! But wait... It still buzzes a bit... I raised the action again, and... well... I'm not quite satisfied, and almost feel like going back to start...

I took the bass where I bought it, and the guy there told be it was natural for a rick. He almost looked at me like I was stupid and added that it was not a buzz, but a "growl" ("No kidding!" I said to myself). So I precised it was a FRET buzz and not the outstanding sound of a 4003's growl and he added naturally that I should listen at Chris Squier's sound and I would see what he means... i wanted to tell him nasty things, but I kept myself calm and added that it was not when I play "love me do" that I would hear most buzz, but when I play the first notes of "Heart of the sunrise" or other YES songs played around the first 3-7 frets... When I play higher it's fine (You should try to play the guitar part of "Johnny B goode" on your 4003 around the 11th fret... It's delicious... what a sound!)...

So well... at least he suggested half-wounds... would that really help???
