She won't even let me buy a pickgaurd now!
BTW, the 4080 is en route via UPS. Left Omaha this morning. It might arrive this week! Sure hope so!

We're in the process of receiving eight inches of heavy, wet snow today in the Mild High City, yet Californians continue to move here in droves.

Just what the heck is going on out there?

I can understand why salary history is important. When I review resumes, anyone that I suspect is earning more than the position I have open would not be someone likely to take the job.

Even if they really want it, and are qualified, they are likely to be unhappy given that they are used to making more money. There are always unique circumstances, but you have to have a means of sifting through the vast piles of candidates.

What's going on is the cost of housing is outrageous. An 1100 sq. ft. home will run you about $650,000 in the OC. I'd love to stay here myself, but I don't make the kind of money needed to own a home, hell almost to rent an apartment and feed myself.

I'm with Erik. The cost of housing in So.Cal. in general is insane. I was a kid out here in the 60's when everyone was..uh..well..born here and spoke English. I came back in '85 to culture shock. Many of the neighborhoods I grew up in have been wrecked. The $45,000 house I lived in as a kid is now over half a mill and I can just afford to rent 850 sq.ft. outside of L.A.. And to think I moved back here to persue a career in music...WRONG!

Not sure what happened to the original post, but I announced my acceptance of the job on this very forum in early 2003.

Howard, It seems that the only two questions you can ask are employment history and salary history. Of course their are others, bt these are legitimate questions every prospective employer would ask.
