Well, at least the seller did not attempt to pass this copy off as the genuine article. He would not have succeeded anyway - the thing has too many details which promptly give it away as a (poor) copy.

Here we go again. They keep cropping up on Ebay. This time it's 'Early Vintage Rickenbacker Bass', item 915460990. Peter, will you do the honors, as it were?

I emailed that guy and told him he had a copy the first day. He knows it's a fake.

Some sucker just used the "buy it now" option for $475. I emailed him to let him know it's a fake, hopefully he hasn't already sent the money.

It is a real Rick that was most likely 'jetglo/black' and has had a toaster installed in the neck position.
The inlays have the see through resin so you can see the wood behind the resin inlay ... I have never seen some one go to the trouble to copy that look in inlay. We tried NOT to get that look when I worked there . There were some bugs in that system ... they have been ironed out .

I also don't know why some one would put those Grover tuners on as an after market product ... they have to be stock .

Forget legal action on this one; just make the guy sit in the same room as a bunch of us from the Forum, while we laugh and ridicule the piece.
