I love it & would probably go for it as I am a total FL convert, except... that the new FL's don't have side of neck markers at each note. For FL purists this would not be any problem but as a novice I think my learning curve would be a lot steeper.
I did a full 1 1/2 hr live set with my band after owning my 83' FL for only one week. I took a fretted bass along as a saftey net but played the FL for the whole gig.
i got basses both ways..and a couple i ripped the frets outta...lol...my fl 4002 has the million dots..it also has 22 usable notes not 21....hi f is in pitch on the g string ..great for soloing...the coranado has the harmonic markers on the side...precision beast is on the fretboard..same as the hagstrom and espana..
Yeah, Blair, but do you have any SHIFT button on your keyboard?
“I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did.”
