Kevin, color has some bearing and so does rarity, but a more common colored guitar or bass still have plenty of eye appeal, don't they? And a double neck even more so.

I do hope Dale gets some great photos of the 4080, as it looks like it will be a winner!

That checkered binding will look fantastic. It'll be one of a kind for sure, as is Dane W.'s custom double.
As for appeal I love FG on a 12 string. 330,360,620, it doesn't matter, they all look great, not to mention all the other models as well. I just stumbled onto all 3 of my basses, but I love them all to death.
I don't envy you having to sift through all the submissions & pick the winners. You'll get some fantastic photos for sure. Kind of a chronicle of forumite's top choices. It'll be just as interesting to see the runners upImage

A fun idea! I'll have to put a CD together for you Paul. Some questions:

"Maximum number of pictures submitted can be ten per member."
- Is this 10 bass photos and 10 guitar photos or 10 all together?

"There will be a guitar calendar and a bass calendar"
- I assume pictures of non-guitars/basses are out? (6000,6006,5002)?

Let me clarify, then, John, because it's an interesting point which you've brought up.

Banjolines, mandolins, etc., are welcome and would go onto the guitar calendar. I'd love to see some family shots, with one or two guitars and/or basses posed with a 100 or 200 Transonic.

A nice doubleneck (6/4) could find itself in either calendar.

By all means submit 10 guitar shots and 10 basses.

I was going to post another bump.

Bump.

More, more, more. Or I'll be forced to do an "MVPGRETSCH" calendar.

Paul, Are you looking for only stock bases. Will "basterdized" basses be considered?

The more the merrier.

And the more I consider an "mvpgretsch" calendar, the more fun it sounds like...

Besides the Rick calendar, of course.

Here's his latest variation on the "American Eagle" theme:

He's also done a Fender Tele in the last couple of weeks:

I've got enough of his stuff to do several calendars. Now, surely our distinguished bunch of players and collectors can come up with some real gems to offset all the bad hard drive karma???
