Orchestra = Good. "Fiddle" = Bad.

If a bar band shows up with an orchestra behind them, I'm staying to see that show! Image

"If you make her play her "fiddle" like a normal person would you guys could do "Losing It". Sure, it had a lot of keys, but I learned the main keyboard line on my bass and it's not all that bad.

"Losing It" isn't all that modern, but I saw your set list and it says you do "The Spirit Of Radio".. that's older than "Losing It".

I was gonna say Hee Haw but Jeff is dead set against playing in a country band.

Oh... she might learn to play cello, and so you might become a new Apocalyptica... 8-)

It's COOL Nate if you mean Apocalyptica! 8-)
When they played here in Russia, the "steep" guys (sometimes called "new Russians") who were out of the room for a beer or a chat on hearing the intro were sure it was a whole heavy metal band playing (drums, bass, you know). Imagine their faces when they entered the room! 8-) "jaw hitting the floor" is too modest 8-)
Really Jeff... try to talk her into learning the cello?.. 8-)

actually Scott the lead singer and the guy who owns the PA and the light show is going to take a few months off ... the drummer and the lead guitarist are bugging him more than me ... he needs a break ... then we will put the thing back together with some new people ...

Sharon is a good singer and she plays violin with a local symphony ... she is not the problem ... Scott started the band as a modern rock band and the other 2 guys are trying to take it over and remake it into a classic rock band ...

so while that all falls apart I will go and find some other people to play with for a while ...

Jeff, your comment about adding an accordian (not seriously, of course) reminds me of a song lyric from that awful movie 'Ishtar':

"Telling the truth can be dangerous business,
Honest and popular don't go hand-in-hand;
When you admit that you play the accordian,
No one will invite you into their rock-n-roll band."

If I had a rock band, I *would* have at least one song in which we use the accordian. Music should be fun and funny! Too many rock posers out there for my tastes.
