Bill Schultz has been retired for some time now. Bill Mendello, their former president is now CEO. Matthew Janopaul, a really terrific guy (formerly of Weston Presidio, one of their major shareholders) has taken the president's and COO position and given the company some fresher blood.

Anyway, thanks for the good words, guys!

Just to make sure I don't look like a total bozo, I do know that there's a difference between Mike Lewis' position as a Fender/Gretsch rep, and John's position as Ric owner/kahuna. I just meant the comparison in the sense that both were posting to these forums as, for lack of a better term, "company insiders".

You can tell the difference too -- Mike's posts, while informative, were more of the "corporate" variety, kinda like, "A White House spokesman said today...".

Whereas John's posts are always a lot more, uhm, impassioned. Like, "Here's a guy that actually PLAYS these things!"

I need submissions. Otherwise it will have three members' guitars, mine, and a bunch of mvp's Gretsches and maybe some of my daughter's Rickenbacker sketches...

Paul,

I am trying to get a local photographer to get a few done over the Christmas period. My 64 RM1999, 68 deluxe and 73 fretless will be featured.

Good to know it got there, Paul. I was beginning to wonder. Now, I realise it's the holiday season but when it takes Priority Mail a week to get to you it makes you wonder how long it would have taken if I had sent it third class. Likely the same number of days.
