Oooohhhhh.... Model 1996. That is totally, completely, and utterly my dream guitar!

Just not in that color, LOL!

Will take me a long time to save up for one of those, and even longer to save up to get one in MY color..... ;)

Oh, I want one in a really, really bad way!

I'll be ordering one as soon as a dealer will let me place an order. I figure I'll have plenty of time to save up. It'll be well worth the wait. Image

Thats what I did Mike. I figure it will be 2-3 years before we see anything. What a beautiful guitar though.

What are you guys waiting for? I was notified by a dealer that the order for my new 1996 AFG was placed yesterday with RIC. He said he was quoted "delivery of around 18 months" on it. I have also heard "18 months" mentioned on other models recently so I believe RIC is getting caught-up on their backlog of orders.

The dealer I spoke with has not had his phone calls to the factory verifying that they were accepting orders. Who did you order from, Krick? Did they require a deposit?

I was just showing the pic on the RIC site to my hubby and he said, "If you're really good this year I'll order one for you!"

Time to start polishing up my halo!

Think I can do it? Hahahahahaha! Image

That very much depends on his definition of "good", Melibee.... LOL!! Image

The US price puts it somewhere around the $5500 AUD mark. Think I'll have to pass....

Given a choice, I'd rather be bad and order one for myself.

Now that would be easier, wouldn't it, Dane?

I'm wondering myself how "good" he wants me to be....

I would already do almost anything for him.... What would I have to do to get my dream guitar????

What would I NOT do for Rickenbackers, LOL!

The guy I spoke to said he had 18 on order. Since I have deposits on other guitars he kindly took my order.

I wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole Melissa...even if he does come all the way from Warsaw.

Hey Mel, what is your favorite color on a Rick? And will the 1996 be available only in Amber Firelgo? Hmm.
