I noticed Pick of the Ricks is off of the "See which guitars have shipped to what dealer" part of the Ric site. Is this just because of the address change? I miss checking it every day.

My question is why did Music123 orders get compromised?

I'm sure you can appreciate that I can't comment on a specific dealer situation.

But on a general basis, most businesses expect to be paid for goods they deliver, if they are to stay in business.

Dunno about POTR, will check it out.

Thanks for the info John... I'm sure I won't be knocking on their door anymore.

When it comes to Rickenbackers, I think it makes sense to deal with the guys that specialize rather than the chains. Guys like Chris Clayton, Mike Parks, Jim Roades. They seem to have the best prices and service.

Steve, I just checked and I see POTR just fine. As an example, check the Model 330. You do understand that if they haven't had a shipment of a particular model recently, they won't show up, right?

Hmmm....I checked it today and didn't see it. They have been getting a lot of MB basses and 4004's, so they should be on there...ohhh...I was checking it under 4003, they haven't gotten any of those in a while. I see them under 330's shipped. They don't have one 4003 on their list!

I put an order in for a 4003FL BBR last year with Sounds Great in Cheadle. They are an official Rosetti dealership - given the high regard that JH has for Rosetti, I have to believe I will get my bass eventually !!

JH posted on the RIC forum that the current backlog (before the flood of NAMM inspired orders) was 454 days, with roughly 200 production days in a year.
Being a COY and a FL might take a bit longer than a standard model/color.

He also has stated many times that regional considerations do not exist. It's first in, first out regarding orders. When your order comes up in the cycle it gets built regardless of where the guitar is going to be shipped.

I might not see my C64 then for another several years then! It's just real frustrating to have to wait this long.

The backlog was most likely different when you placed your order. That's what counts. It was probably less.
I'll order a 4003 this year (don't tell the wife just yet), and I'll put a downpayment on it. The wait will give me time to get rid of a few bills first.
It's also good news for my old basses, since when the new one finally arrives I'll probably keep the old 4000 & 4001 in their cases most of the time & gig the 4003 & 4080 exclusively.

The current backlog only applies to orders placed today. Your order went into the chain & retains it's relative place until final production.

Hey Ben,

We all do respect and appreciate your enormous power. So much so, in fact, that if you can move my order up in line, I can introduce you to my very good friend, Mr. Hamilton.

Mr. ALEXANDER Hamilton.
